I am trying to test a client-custom scripts that uses this command. The goal is to remain in an isolated environment (I have stopped channel initiator). I know that the command fails in z/OS if channel initiator is not runnig but does anyone know what happens on AIX platform? Does it enforce the channel initiator to start or does it fail as in z/OS case? I am running MQSeries 6.0.2 on AIX 5.3

Appreciate any input..

It really depends on how you suspended the qmgr.

Be aware that suspend qmgr cluster(abc) mode(force) will shut down the corresponding cluster receiver channel. Before you can resume the qmgr to the cluster you should restart the cluster receiver manually.

Enjoy
