It means that if the queue manager is shutting down (quiescing), then have the get fail. It is a way to get out of your MQGETs without having them hang forever. |

Bower,
Just to qualify what you said, the MQGET will only "hang forever" if you give it an infinite wait time. Also, if the queue manager is quiescing because of a normal shutdown (endmqm -w) then the queue manager will wait for the application to disconnect before shutting down. In other words, even if the MQGET has a finite wait time, the queue manager won't shutdown until the MQDISC is issued. _________________ Brandon Duncan
