Is it possible using the MO12 support pack to do message replay for specific queues? How do you do a specific selection for replay. I want this so I can recover specific queues.
Thanks,

Are you running MQ v5.1, v5.2, or v5.3 on zOS / S390?
If not, you can't use MO12.
Also, it says that it will extract the logs into files, so you can reparse the output files to select only the queues you need.
Generally, trying to recover messages from the logs like this is a relatively inefficient and insufficient way to handle message replay. It's much better to design a replay system into the overall enterprise, or handle it at the application level.
If this is a one time thing, to try and recover from a disaster.. well, good luck and I hope all the messages you need were persistent. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Well I'm just trying to prepare for the future. We had a case last week where our mainframe queue manager sent messages down to a unix queue manager. The unix queue manager is an older version and somehow MQ wasn't able to get more memory from the operating system and we think one of the translation tables got corrupted. Because when the application pulled the messages off the queues on unix, the data was all garbled. This app has been running for years, and we know it works correctly. We bounced the unix queue manager and that fixe it. So anyways they asked if we could resend the data from the mainframe. So I was looking to see if I could have used MO12 to reproduce the data that was in the specific transmission queue. It is zos 5.3.1 version and the messages were persistant.
Thanks,
