We currently are trying to set up a new environment to run MQ Series 6.0.2 on a HP-UX server running HP-UX 11v2 11.23 ia64. We have also installed MQ AMI 1.2.5. Our application is Universe 10.2.6. The problem we are having is when we make the aminitialize call, we get a return code of 109 indicating an authorization error. IBM has told us that the AMI is not compatible with itanium. It this true? We currently have MQ 5.3 with AMI 1.2.5 running on a pa-risc HP server with no problems. We have set up security exactly the same on both systems. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Nothing about your working environment is anything like the same as your non-working environment.
AMI is deprecated, for several years and several versions.
If your Universe application requires this, then you need to push back on them to use a supported technology instead. Or upgrade to a version of Universe that does use a supported technology.
And, really. If IBM says that it's not compatible that means "nobody will be able to make it work". _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
MQ components on PA-RISC are compiled to use PA-RISC instruction set.
MQ components on Itanium are compiled to use Itanium instruction set.
You cannot mix them.
