I was wondering if we got an MQ command to identify MQ version on both UNIX and Windows OS.

Yes.

When I click on the "Search" button, and enter in "mq version", it says there are 947 or so results.

OK ,of those 960 whatever,can you get me one that is of relevance to my question?I have perused through 20 odd pages,even before I posted this topic and not found nothing of relevance!

Instead of searching for "mq version" and getting no where ,here's what I found:

/opt/mqm/bin/dspmqver -- will get you current mq version

you did find it and that was the point.

on search with multiple keywords always click the "search for all terms" radio button.

for an MQ quick start have a look at http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=34358&highlight=mq it was on the first page
