Do you mean Services or do you mean MQ Explorer? I think you need Explorer, and you may need to add the queue manager before it's visable.
For more detailed help post if you're using the V5.3 mmc snap-in or the V6 new shiny. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Then you may need to add it to the window - you're quite right, you do need Services not Explorer (it's been a rough day )
Or do it through the command line with an ALTER QMGR command... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

But if you are seeing a local qmgr in MQ Explorer, you should see it in the MQ Services window as well.
I don't think you need to add it manually.
Something smells fishy about that qmgr.
This is based on my experience so far.
Pls correct me if I am wrong.
thanks.

I agree completely. But I have seen it exhibit this behaviour, for reasons never fully explained. In all honesty, reasons never fully investigated - I shrugged, muttered "Windows..." under my breath and got on with something more important. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I remember something about versions of v5.3 on Windows and the differences between crtmqm and the MMC console. That things created from the command line should not be managed by the MMC and vice versa, due to differences in what got added to registries. And that amqmdain either was added or had options added to allow for fixing this or something.
My memory on this is fading, though. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

The biggest trouble I remember about was CSD06 (I believe) not keeping the listener port #. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
