We are an executive retained search firm looking for a Director of Middleware – permanent position. Our client is a Dallas, TX based multi billion dollar leader in the services industry. Candidates must have strong technical knowledge of java and/or C++ and experience with integrating middleware throughout the enterprise. Listed below is the general job description and requirements needed.
General Description:
Must have minimum five years strong experience managing a team and projects - Will lead a team including: developers, architect, project manager, and other technologists
Ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously.
Must have experience integrating middleware throughout the enterprise
Interacts with product marketing and sales.
Provides both sales and customer support for new or existing Middleware and Merchandising products.
Directs the technical activities of the Middleware and Merchandising software development function for software systems, applications and/or software quality assurance.
Directs a team that conducts analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of software programs and/or applications. Responsible for testing and documentation.
Oversees work of Middleware and Merchandising software development staff.
Responsible for directing and managing products/programs/projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or computer-based system to customers.
Tracks product adoption and performance.
Knowledge of HR responsibilities, budgeting/financial activities.
Develops budget and manages activities of two or more functions, sections, departments and/or projects through subordinate managers.
Responsible for mid-range planning for multiple functions and/or projects with a focus on tactical operations over 1 to 3 years.
Responsible for results in terms of costs, methods, and employees. Receives general business direction for assigned business unit functions.
Decisions have significant and broad impact on multiple departments or projects, may have an impact on operating/business unit objectives.
Large infrastructure based system experience would be a plus
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Masters in Computer Science/Engineering preferred. Minimum 8 years experience in a relevant technical role and minimum 5 years experience in a technical management position
Technical knowledge requirements:
· Java and java applications
· C++
· Must have message oriented middleware experience – MOM - preferably in a high transaction environment
· Websphere
· Prefer MQ Series could have TIBCO or related middleware
· JBoss
· JMS
· An Evangelist
· Emphasis on leadership of a technical team and communicating across many teams within the company
