Does anyone have some experience with the following scenario:
Two queue managers on two hosts, are members of the same cluster and serve two identical brokers operating on each host.
One queue manager is processing a persistent message when it encounters an error and terminates abnormally.
What are the circumstances, if any, underwhich the persistent message flows from the crashed queue manager to the healthy queue manager and is processed by the healthy broker execution group?
I had assumed none, but please correct me if I am wrong. |

I think you assume correctly. If a queue manager crashes that contains persistent messages, they will be stuck on that queue manager until the queue manager comes back up. Even then, they won't flow anywhere unless the configuration intended it (e.g. if they were on a qlocal which was to be processed by a broker flow and the broker flow is not running, messages won't automatically "jump" to the other qmgr.
The only place this can be done AFAIK is on zOS with queue sharing groups. _________________ Regards

The only exception I can think of would be a persistent message still in transit over the channel. That would roll back.
But certainly if the message has been delivered to it's local queue, and the queue manager then crashes, the message is stuck until the queue manager recovers. Except in the case already mentioned by scottj2512 _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
