I understand this may have been covered numerous times, but I was wandering if there method to connect to an application database via ODBC using a different userid.
I.e. Does Broker support the LogonID and Password within the ODBC configuration file?
So when I create a data source entry within the ODBC.ini as:
[MYDATASOURCE]
Driver=/opt/IBM/mqsi/6.0/merant/lib/UKor820.so
Description=DataDirect 5.0 Oracle
EnableDescribeParam=1
OptimizePrepare=1
ServerName=MYDATABASE
WorkArounds=536870912
ProcedureRetResults=1
LogonID=non_mqsidb_user
Password=mypassword
The broker is still using the mqsicreatebroker –u dataSourceUserId as proved by an ODBC trace.
Is there anyway to get the broker to use the LogonID from the ODBC stanza?
System Information:
• Solaris 8
• Oracle 9
• WMBv6
• DataDirect version 5
From what I remember this used to be an issue in version 2, but IBM came out with a fix in a later CSD.
Also is there a supplied tool from merant that will test the ODBC datasource issolated from the broker?
Regards,
Tom. |

Jeff,
Thanks for your reply and I will give this a whirl. Is this in version 5 as well?
Thanks again, for your speedy answer.
