Hi all,
I'm planning to install MQ series 6.0 on AS/400. This is the first time i'm doing the install on AS/400. I believe that a virtual optical drive should be created and software uploaded to that and then proceed with the install.
Can anyone please assist me in how to create this virutal optical drive for AS/400? Then how do i upload the software to it and proceed with the install? I really appreciate if you can provide me a reference with the explanation as well...
Thanks a lot in advance and an immediate assistance is highly appreciated.
Ask the person who told you that a "virtual optical drive" needed to be created.
Jeff is 100 % correct. I am not an expert of as400, but i had recetnly installed mq 6.0 on as400. I am hearing the virtual optical drive for the first time. We have to create SAVE file rather.
As400 is completely different from other sytems. The whole concept is different. File systems is different.
If you read the release note andn QB for iSeries, you will get idea how to do it but you need an AS400 admin these in term of iseries. None as400 person can not understand these terminology. I installed mq based on these quide and with the help of as400 admin.
Quote:
Ask your AS/400 system adminitstrator how to provision software installers.
Ask in an AS/400 administration forum.
This is not an MQ question, this is entirely an AS/400 question.
Read the Quick Beginnings Guide for iSeries.
My best suggestion is make as400 admin guy your friend and get his/her help to do the installation. You can not master as400 just asking a few questions and/or reading a few hundred pages of document.
