Is there an IBM resource that provides a recommendation for automatic startup on AIX? Specifically, the entry for the inittab.
thanks, |

Define "resource". _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

An IBM publication or support pack. Also, it doesn't have to be an 'IBM resource'. |

I asked, because there are a lot of people who frequent here who can be considered "IBM resources".
Does the Information Center count?
Does it have anything pertinent to say on the subject? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I was thinking more along the lines of documentation available to the public in the form publications, blogs, websites (such as this one).
I did check the information center and I couldn't find anything. I checked out some AIX online information and found info about the inittab itself but nothing specific to WMQ and automatic startup.
I wanted to be sure to exhaust any readily available resources. |

There might be a devworks article?
other than that, the usual course starts with "strmqm". _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

We are currently using:
wmq***:2:once:/usr/bin/su - mqm -c /usr/mqm/bin/strmqm qmgr > /dev/null 2>&1 # start (qmgr name) queue mgr
We wanted to make sure that if there were any standards or recommendations regarding the subject, we were in alignment with them.
Thanks for your help. |
