hi,
Has anyone used the support pac mo71. This seems to be an interesting one. Can you let me know your thoughts about this support pac. It looks like a poor man’s monitoring tool !!
Cheers, |

Not so poor! I find it quicker than MQExplorer to set up and use it extensively, and it's more aimed at ease of administration rather than monitoring and allowed GUI access to z/OS before MQExplorer did.
One of the aspects I find most useful is its ability to export object definitions to a file, but it also contains a lot more handy stuff.
In the final analysis it comes down to personal preference, what the site policy is or what the admins will allow - and I'm an admin here so I get to use it _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

senMQ,
MO71 is free, but absolutely not poor . I am working with it for years and use it for monitoring, configuration, documentation, testing and so on. MO71 is a very powerful tool . _________________ Regards

Hello,
I like MO71, but I have a vague memory of a support pac better suited to taking a dump of all the objects in a queue manager, allowing you to view it as a text file, amend a few parameters, and then recreate it under a different named queue manager on a different server (i.e. a quick way of replicating test environments). Can anyone remember what this is, or is MO71 as good as it gets, and I'm not remembering this other thing correctly? |
