I have tried to set up excluding the 9002 message (normal channel start) using Extended queue manager property in MQ Explorer and have verified that the setting shows (ExcludeMessages in QMErrorLog stanza) in the registry (Win XP). If I then stop and start the channel manually, the 9002 status messages still show up. Have tried bouncing the qmgr but no help there.
Has anybody made this work on V6? I have found nothing in the IBM support pages on this for V6. I assume this replaces the environment variable set in in V5.3? Thanks for any help - I hope someone can tell me what stupid thing I am doing _________________ Jill D Lennon |

Hi Jill!
I have it working fine in Linux, I'll give it a try on Windows and let you know how I get on.....
EDIT: Nope, it seems to be ignored in windows. _________________ -wayne |

If it works that same as the environment variables with V5 you will still see some 9002 messages. It's only if you produce lots of them in a short period that they get suppressed.
With V5, the default was 60,5 meaning that if more than 5 AMQ9002 messages get produced in a 60 second period, it will start suppressing them. Otherwise no suppression takes place.
Not sure how this translates to the V6 version.... |

Hi jdlennon,
So what exactly it means. Is it means that if you want to suppress some messages, you can use this queue manager parameter?
I took a sample test for WMQ v6 and there was a question regarding it as follows:
Setting the WebSphere MQ Parameter "SuppressMessages=9001" in the extended queue manager properties page from the WebSphere MQ Explorer, or the QMErrorLog stanza in the qm.ini file requests the:
I'm not asking answer for this question but I want to understand its concept.
Thank you, |
