Hi,
It seems that when you have a QM shut down in MQ v6 for Windows you cannot interrogate the properties of any listeners associated with that QM.
This differs from 5.3 where you could configure the listener without bringing up the QM - does anyone know how to do this in v6?
Thanks

AFAIK under v6 the listener is now a queue manager administered object like a queue. So logically there's no way of accessing it except via the queue manager like a queue.

having listeners as MQ object is major improvement IMHO
what's the problem with starting the qmgr and then use mqsc to configure the listener? _________________ Michael

For the record, I agree. Re-reading my post did make it sound like I was being disparaging. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

There is no major problem with this.
We use the 3DNS product that 'ping's 1414 on our prod and DR servers - when it detects the DR server online and the prod server offline it initiates a DNS push.
Hence, we try to minimise our uptime for the DR listener to reduce risk...
It seems with v6 to change the listener means starting the QM - which is not always desirable... |

in V6 starting the QMGR does not mean the listener starts aswell, it can be configured to start with the QMGR via the CONTROL parm _________________ Michael
