The authors of MA89 have released the first update since 2002. It is not on the IBM website yet. Here is the announcement I received:

You are receiving this email because you contacted us in the last siz months regarding the perl MQSeries module.
Michelle and I are happy to announce that release 1.24 of the perl5 MQSeries module has been uploaded to CPAN. It should become visible on your CPAN mirrors in the next few days.
This is a transitional release. We have improved support on 64-bit systems and are starting to support MQ v6, especially in the MQSeries::Command class. Support for MQ v6 is far from complete, but we aim to extend this in the near future. See the Changes file in the distribution for details on what made it into this release.
It has been several years since the previous release. We aim to revive the module with a steady stream of small enhancements and releases in the next year.
Plans for the 1.25 release include:
- Removing the MQ v2 support
- Fixing bugs and portability issues
- Switching to Params::Validate to perform parameter validation
Plans for the releases affter that include:
- support for the new object types and PCF calls in MQ v6
- support for the MQI enhancements in MQ v6
Please note that the new release may not work out of the box on your platform. If so, please be patient with us, and send us an email describing the problem. We will do our best to assist you and try to make sure any necessary fixes make it into the next release. Any request for help should include details on your platform (hardware, OS release), perl release, MQ release, and MQ environment (client/server).
Both Michelle and I have a day job that doesn't involve supporting the perl MQSeries module. So please be patient with us - we may not be able to reply as fast as you'd sometimes like.
Feel free to forward this message to others, post it onto MQSeries-related message boards, mailgroups or newsgroups, etc.
Regards,
Hildo Biersma / Michelle Beloff |
