Hi MQ gurus,
While trying to add qmgr in as400 in windows mq, i got an error 4036 ( not authorised to perform the operation). What is this error? I can connect to as400 box and qmgr in wintel and as400 box are talking to each other. There is firewall. What else should I check? No MCA, and nothing else?
command server is running
system.admin.svrconn channel is created
system.mqexlporer.model.reply queue exists
what else?
Thanks |

Probably means you don't have permissions on the command queue. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Jeff,
I definitely will check for the permission at command queue. But when I did test in my two laptops, I did not have to change anything. This is also my installation, I have not touched anytyhing on both sides. Why did not work?
As I said, I can communicate between these server with sdr/rcvr channel.
Just for thouth,
thanks |

If it's telling you it's an authorization problem, then it's an authorization problem.
The most likely thing that you don't have access to is the command queue.
Remember that MQExplorer always passes the windows user id. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

If you want to know for sure, turn on authority events and then have a look at the EVENT queue. If it's an authority issue you'll see a message in there with the object and user that is failing.
Cheers
Steve
P.S. "system.mqexlporer.model.reply" -- I hope you mean SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.MODEL |
