There are two or three perfectly useable ones available as Support Packs.
And they only apply if you're using linear logging - are you? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Can anyone please help to discribe the whole procedure starting from begining stopping broker, stopping qmgrs compressing linear logs and then taking backups and then restarting it on crontab. even to put them on the server to run at mid night. If you provide some scripts to do that . will greatly appericiate it.Thanks for any help. you reach me at victor_kumar74@yahoo.com

Too proud to download support packs? Too lazy to read them? Or too mean to pay for the consultancy?
Presumably you're being paid to produce these scripts. Certainly I charge to produce them, including describing the procedure through training. I for one am disinclined to provide free consultancy through this forum and think it's poor form to ask for it.
If, having read the support packs (which as jefflowrey points out contain perfectly good sample scripts) you have specific issues then please do post your questions and I'll be the first to try and assist.
I'll be the last to spoon feed you a complete solution. Except for the relevant daily rate.... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Thanks for the help. If you could help me for writing script or helping for the procedure to setup. I don't need free consultancy. |

I (and my bank manager) are delighted to hear that. The support packs will provide all the script and procedure you need.
Assuming (as has been pointed out before) you're using linear logging. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Mr Google recomends MS62 - Linear Log Clean Up Script.
Certainly a good place to start _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

And if you are partial to java, you should certainly try MS0L. I use it and it works wonders, every hour. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

You might have more luck posting in a Unix forum - it's not a specific MQ thing, just script scheduling.
Again jefflowrey provides a good starting point for your researches. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
