We are trying to connet to an IBM MQ on a mainframe system through dot net application.
We are getting the following errors
MQRC-2059 error- QManager not available
This works fine when i try to connect to an MQ on a windows 2003 server on the local network.
When i try to connect to a remote MQ on a mainframe, i get the above error.
I tried connecting to it through
amqscnxc but it shows the same error.
Could there me a security restrictions in the local intranet or at the remote MQ site or is there a problem with accessing the mainframe MQ from a dotnet program? [/code] |

Can anyone establish any client connections to your mainframe? What kind o f mainframe is it, anyway? zSeries? iSeries? Tandem NSK?
If it is zSeries, you may need to purchase and install the Client Attachment Facility on your mainframe. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

For MQSeries, assuming you mean z/OS, you need to make sure that you have the Client Attachment Facility installed on the mainframe.
Given that, have you set up the MQSERVER environment variable or an appropriate TAB file on the Windows client?
Also, you also need to check to make sure that you have appropriate connectivity. Assuming TCP/IP, can you PING the mainframe from your windows client?
Finally, do you have a listener running on the mainframe on the appropriate port?
Consult the Clients and Intercommunication manuals for more info. _________________ IBM Certified MQSeries Specialist
