We are currently using MB 6.1 on AIX 5.2
Due to some issues(regarding ISMP) we need to uninstall MB and reinstall fixPack 01

My question is
If I just stop Broker and ConfigMgr and NOT DELETE them.
Once I reinstall MB can I just use the old Broker and ConfigMgr.
(Just say mqsistart BROKER and mqsistart CongigMgr will they work).

You should not delete the MB Runtime if you want to use the old configMgr and Broker....if you uninstall that, then nothings left....perhaps your QM and DB instances are...and later when u try to recreate with the same name, it will become an issue...

The fixpack is for runtime i suppose...so might as well delete them, else save and migrate.

Regards.

In the Uninstallation doc i have read
Quote:
If you do not plan to reinstall on this computer, delete all of the runtime components. When you delete a component, all its associated data and resources are deleted.

Since I am planning to reinstall Do I need to delete BROKER and ConfigMgr.

Or do I have to delete all components, uninstall, then install and create all the components and deploy the bar file.

I think they wanted you to decipher is as below
Quote:
If you do not plan to reinstall on this computer, delete all of the runtime components. But if you plan to reinstall on this computer, then do not delete all of the runtime components. When you delete a component, all its associated data and resources are deleted. So when u delete the runtime components the configMgr and Broker which are its associated data will also get deleted.
I think I should now look for a job at Hursley as a documenter...i.e if I got the above right

Regards.
