Hi all, I have seen a great deal of info on WMQ and MSCS, but nothing with my behavior. I'm still looking, but hopefully someone has experienced this and can assist. We're attempting to set up an MSCS environment in an Active/Active cluster with a unique qmgr running on each node. We're at WMQ v5.3 CSD10. The setup seems to work okay and if we manually fail a qmgr, it starts up on the second node.
My issue is that I can only connect to the qmgr(s) on the node where the quorum disk is currently located. So if both qmgrs and the quorum disk are on the same node I can connect to both. If I failover one or both qmgrs to the other node, without moving the quorum disk I cannot connect to either. To connect I'm testing with amqsputc and MQ Explorer from a third server.
Any thoughts? _________________ Regards, Bob |

I am not sure how you setup MQ on the MSCS, but I found the Beginners guide to setting up WEBSphere MQ on Microsoft Cluster Server to be helpful. It almost went hand in hand with install documentation that was made locally after many tries at getting everything to work together. I never setup MQ in the MSCS until recently and the document (Beginners guide to setting up WEBSphere MQ on Microsoft Cluster Server) helped out during the install process. I believe I found the document on the IBM Website. |

Thank UAX, the setup seemed to go pretty smooth. Other than a Redbook I came across I wasn't aware there was a user's type setup guide. I'll poke around IBM; I was referencing Chapter 13 in the Admin Guide. _________________ Regards, Bob |

It is not a huge guide, just 2 pages of useful information. |
