Hi All,
We want to set one user as absent. We dont want the work items to be created for that user. So, just setting the user absent will do? OR do we have to have a substitute for that and set it absent too? Also, if we have a substitute already, can we set both of them absent? Will the WI created if both are absent?
Reply appreciated.
Thanks. |

It is unclear to me exactly what you are getting at here.
These are the relevant workitem generation rules.
1. If a user is absent AND that user has a substitute a work item is generated for the substitute whether or not they are absent.
2. If a user is absent and there is no substitute no workitem is generated.
3. At least one workitem must always be generated, so if no other workitem has been generated one will be created for the Process Administrator.
The way to be sure about these thins is just to give it a shot. _________________ John McDonald

When MQWF is generating workitems it must always generate at least one. If the staff that you specify leads to a case where no one is eligible to receive the workitem, it will be generated for the Process Administrator. _________________ John McDonald

I see.....We have one virtual id and we want to make it disable for now, but we might need it later. So we dont want to delete it. But, since WI are getting created for this id, we want no WI to be created for this user and we dont want those WI to be assigned to anybody. Is that possible to do? You said about generating at least one WI. So do you mean there is a possibility that after one WI is generated no WI would be generated...not even for the Process Administrator? |

If I understand correctly what you want to do is impossible. If there is a human task a workitem MUST be created. _________________ John McDonald
