as we know , we can use setmqcap to set CPU license number in MQ V5.0. but in v6.0, this command is gone. so, how to set CPU license in MQ v6.0 if MQ was installed on multi-CPU machine. |

on Windows I can't find the command either, the MQ V6 documentation states you are asked this question during the installation on Windows...
setmqcap should still be available on other platforms like AIX, Solaris and Linux. _________________ Michael

Read the V6 manual. I believe the command name has been changed. Can't remember it though but it should be documented in the manuals. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I don't believe this is a necessary step any more. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Please check if you have ran the MQ fix pack 6.0.1.0 after MQv6 installation. It will definitely fetch you the setmqcap command. |

Thanks Gayathri. But I am still in confused state. We spend lot of money to purchase the MQ lic.

Then why we need to spend lot of money to purchase the licenses if it is not required on mq6.?(we have MQ 6.0 version on our servers)
How does the MQ Server will know whether MQ is licensed version or not?
Thanks

You need to spend the money on the license so that you aren't doing anything illegal, such as running unlicensed software.
As well as to protect your business against unacceptable risk of not having support for production systems. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
