We have a MQ cluster with AIX & HP servers. Cluster repository is on an AIX server, to which we want to add an iSeries queue manager. The iSeries is the UK-English code page 285 system. The AIX machines are code page 819.
This is the error message I see in the logs:
12/20/06 10:03:13 - Process(23222.1) User(mqm) Program(amqrrmfa)
AMQ6047: Conversion not supported.
EXPLANATION:
WebSphere MQ is unable to convert string data tagged in CCSID 285 to
data in
CCSID 819.
ACTION:
Check the WebSphere MQ Application Programming Reference Appendix and
the
appropriate National Language Support publications to see if the
CCSIDs are
supported by your system.
IBM sugests that we should change the CCSID of the iSeries from 285
to 1146 as a workaround for this problem.
Is this a solution to my issue? I don’t want to make this change on the AIX repository side as I'm not sure, what impact this would have on rest of the queue managers in the cluster.
Any thoughts...
