Hi,
I was trying to create a 64-bit EG, but was having a few issues. We have AIX 5.3, WMB 6, (both broker and CMgr on AIX). When tried to deploy a bar file , it's throwing abend files: (error codes: BIP2228E, BIP2060W)

First off - in any case of an abend, you need to open a PMR. The odds of anyone outside the lab being able to read an abend file are slim, and they probably won't tell you what it means. In addition, abends should never occur - so the lab wants to know about them when they do.
Second off, you're entirely unclear about WHEN the abend is thrown. When trying to create the EG? When trying to deploy the toplogy? When trying to deploy some random bar file after successfully creating and deploying the EG?
Thirdly, you probably have to take steps to ensure that everything in your environment is set up to support 64bit EGs. This includes setting up 64 bit ODBC entries to allow the EG to talk to the broker database. And you haven't said if you've done those.

Hi Jeff,
I'll open the PMR, but just want to make sure that everything is correct from my end. Firstly, let me be more clear on what I have done so far:
1) Already have .odbc.ini file in place. Create a couple of 32bit EG's which are working as expected.
2) Created a odbcini64.ini file in the same directory as .odbc.ini pointing to the same broker database and made sure of other settings. Then created a 64-bit EG. When deployed a bar file(which was working fine in 32bit EG's), though it initially threw some database errors, later fixed them.
3) Finally got to a stage where when deployed the same bar file, I don't get any database errors, but those abend files.
Please let me know if you need any other info. |
