Hi everyone,
About a year ago, the State of Texas began implementation of a statute that requires consolidation of data centers for all state agencies. The operation of the consolidated data centers is being outsourced.
Yep, this means I am losing my job on 3/31/07. That's the bad news.
Here's the good news: IBM won the contract for data center management and I have been offered a position. This ol' MQ Admin is going home to the mother ship, so to speak, to work for IBM next year.
Now if there are any disgruntled former IBMer's on this forum, please keep your unhappy stories to yourself! I am choosing to be happy and excited about this turn of events.
However, anyone out there with upbeat IBM stories, I'm all ears!

Congrats! as a former IBMer: yes the company has changed, yes it's still a good company. Live in the present and don't get sucked into collective 'stories' about the good ol' days...
