I have installed mq 6.0 recently. it seems working fine from the command windows but when I tried to run the win explorer, it does not work.

It has generated a FDC file.

In the body of the FDC file, I found

-----{ xcsReleaseThreadMutexSem
-----} xcsReleaseThreadMutexSem rc=OK
----} zutUnlockLocalThreads rc=OK
---} zstMQConnect rc=lrcE_Q_MGR_NAME_ERROR
--} zstMQCONN rc=lrcE_Q_MGR_NAME_ERROR
-} trmzstMQCONNX rc=lrcE_Q_MGR_NAME_ERROR
} MQCONN rc=lrcE_Q_MGR_NAME_ERROR
{ xcsDisplayJavaHelp

what does this mean? Which queue is it refering?

thanks

amqsjpse suggests something to do with pubsub.

And
Quote:
LVLS :- 6.0.0.0
suggests you should apply a RefreshPack and a FixPack or two to take you to > 6.0.0.0

amqmjpse is the Prepare MQ Wizard !

What exactly do you mean with the win explorer ? The MQ explorer as known in v5 is now replaced by Eclipse... and this should work even without any fixpacks installed.

But if you added the plugin for pub/sub it specifically says that you need at least version 6.0.0.1 of MQ.... So upgrade already!....

I applied the fixpac 2 but still the same. So, I already removed including directoy and installed. It seems alright now. But I am having problem in installing fp 2 now. I started sometime this afternoon but still continuing. Time and again, it says, MQ Files are open, it works again when I press Retry. It is doing this about more than 10 times and the installation is going on for about more then 4 hours.

When I installed fp in previous installation, it did not take that long. But this installation, it is taking unusual time.

This is just a sharing. If you have encountered or have experienced this situation, I would be grateful to learn.

Thanks for your input,

In general, you have to Stop the queue managers, stop the IBM MQSeries Service, choose Exit from the TaskBar menu, and then stop the Windows Performance Monitoring stuff that has an open handle to the MQ dlls.

Or you can go back and look at the hint provided by fjb_saper.

You may also need to shutdown other seemingly contact admin processes too. I recall having to nix a telephone dialer chunk of software and I believe I had to shut Norton down too. YMMV

I guess I mean "Windows Management Instrumentation", at least on XP.

You kidding Kevin. you have to shutdown Norton to install fp for mq?

Jeff, I could not find the option to allow open file as suggested by fjb_saper. Could you please some hint for that.

I really need help now.

It's something like AMQ_FILESINUSEOK or something.

It's an environment variable or a flag. I think if you search for "INUSEOK", you might find some stuff - but I haven't done it so I don't know for sure.
