I have a user who is trying to write a Message to a queue on S/390 with and RFH2 header. The only folder specified, is the "usr" folder. When I look at the message(using RFH2UTILC) from Windows and browse it. Everything looks fine, except that the "usr" folder is not populated, but instread, the "other" folder, or unrecognized folder is populated with the data. After many attempts to try and "correct this issue, the same problem exists.
Here is what shows up in the queue when looking at it from MVS MQ browse utility:
<usr><Type dt="string">HUFT</Type><Event dt="string">OUT </Event>Recordlength dt="i4">....</Recordlength></usr>
Viewing this from RFHUTIL, the "other" folder is checked and the data in there is: L¤¢™nL㨗…@„£~¢£™‰•‡n@Âù÷ðLa㨗…nLÅ¥…•£@„£~¢£™‰•‡nÖäã@LaÅ¥…•£nÙ…ƒ–™„“…•‡£ˆ@„£~‰ôn
This appears to be a conversion problem, and I'm not sure if it is a RFHUTIL tooling issue or a RFH2 format issue. In either case, the data is in the wrong folder.
The receiver application is a JMS application, which can read the body of the message just fine, but cannot get access to the name/value pairs in the folder via the get<Type>Property("Name") method. I beleive my assumption is corect, that values in the "usr" folder are accessible this way. |

sure but you will have to write them in a CCSID that is not mainframe.
Read up on the allowed values for the CCSID of the property/value pair part of the RFH2
