When we create a new broker

mqsicreatebroker myBROKER —i mqsi —a password —q myBROKER_QM —n myDB —u myqsi -p password

Suppose we already have a broker and we want to find the information related to its database name and userid then how to check

Actually i want to create a new broker but using the previous broker database

mqsiservice {BrokerName}
gives all the details except the password because it is encrypted.

While using the same database if fine, you can run into issues. If you run both brokers with the same ID that is used to attached to the database, you will need to upgrade these brokers at the same time. This is only an issue if a fix or new release changes the tables. If you upgrade one, it will change the tables for it and the other broker.

This was an issue when upgrading from MQSI 2.1. It is not an issue if the brokers are created with different schemas or different databases. The schema is derived from the ID that is connecting to the database (I like to use the same ID that runs the broker).

I would run each broker with a unique service ID.
