I am setting up MQ Client on windows box and would like to conenct to the MQ Server on a another box to recive data. How can I configure MQ client to receive data.

(cannot create a qmgr/ channel and local queue on the client)

By following the instructions in the Client manual, or in the Application Programming Guide.

Briefly, there are two methods:

1. Creating one definition on the MQSeries client and the other on the server. See: http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/library/manualsa/csqzaf05/csqzaf051u.htm

2. Creating both definitions on the server (and exporting the resulting client channel table to the client). See: http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/library/manualsa/csqzaf/csqzaf1u.htm

Method 1 is simple, but somewhat inflexible. Method 2 is not so simple, but more flexible.

As JeffLowrey said, read the Clients manual.
