Hi,
When WMQ crashes, many times some of the WMQ processes remain running, and subsequent attempts to start WMQ fail until these processes are killed
The problem is, that apparently the MSCS support for WMQ doesn't kill these processes in case of an unclean shutdown. so after the group is moved back to the original server, the WMQ fails to start.
from checking the situation in unix (using support pac mc91) the shutdown script does kill al remaining processes in such cases.
is there any way to configure MSCS to "clean up" after shutting down WMQ?
Sounds like something IBM ought to be fixing Basically all the MQ processes should periodically poll the health of the qmgr and shut down if it has gone, and it sounds like this isnt occurring here.
Hint... Look at which processes? Perhaps submit along with the problem, a trace on the non-active node as well as amqldmpa -p <pid> for all the residual processes...
