Hi, I am relatively new to MQ. Please can you help me with the following problems
1. The log files are not readable(corrupt)
2. Configuring SSL b/w two Qmgrs(without clustering) and using a Self signed certificate
I am using MQ V6.0(trial), windows 2000 and IBM key management tool. _________________ "Reality is an illusion brought about by the lack of alcohol" |

As to 1, if the files are corrupt I'd recommend deleting / reinstalling (saving the queue manager with the support pac if needed) to see if that resolves the issue. I'm assuming you mean the queue manager output logs (text) as opposed to the queue logs (binary & not human readable).
As to 2, I'd recommend the step by step instructions in the "Using Security" manual (or it's online equivalent).
Happy reading! _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

The files in the mq LOG directory are not readable ever.
They are binary files and are in an undocumented (and probably proprietary) format.
The files in the MQ ERRORS directory should be readable. If they aren't, then your whole installation is corrupt in a way I didn't know was possible, and you need to open a PMR immediately, and probably reinstall your entire machine.
Since you are relatively new to MQ, I will share the most important thing I know about MQ that will be of great help to you in everything you do with MQ.
The documentation is the first place to look for anything. Read it, read it again. Search it. Learn how to search it. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
