Hi all,
I downloaded the CSD12 fix pack for my solaris machine.The file is U803579.gskit.tar.Z The command i used is: tar -xvf U803579.gskit.tar.Z
So, now, i tried to untar this file on the solaris box and i get an error saying: "tar: directory checksum error"
Can anyone help me how to overcome this obstacle and apply this fix pack on my solaris machine? I appreciate your help....
Please correct me if i am wrong..i can untar the file from anywhere (mqm authority) on the box and the patch gets applied to it... am i correct? What are the other measures i must take before applying the fix pack? This is the first time i am doing it so i am asking you for help... Thanks in advance... |

There will be a
that comes with the CSD. You go back to the website where you downloaded the CSD and you will find a Readme for the platform you downloaded. All the instructions should be pretty clear on how to uncompress and untar and how to apply the fix.
If this is the first time you are doing it, definitely that is the place to start |

The file is compressed, so you can either uncompress it first and then extract the contents, or do it in one go.
1. Uncompress then extract
| Code: |
uncompress U803579.gskit.tar.Z
tar xvf U803579.gskit.tar
|
2. In one go
| Code: |
zcat U803579.gskit.tar.Z | tar xvf -
|
