If you mean a remote queue definition on your local queue manager, it legally has no depth; it's just a pointer to a destination. The messages are in the transmission queue along with all the others for that route.

If you mean the depth of a queue on a remote queue manager, you must be connected to that queue manager to enquire on the depth.

Presumably you're trying some kind of admin level monitoring? Rather than something silly like checking the depth to see if your message is being read off?
