The MaxMsgLength is an attribute of a queue, not of a message .....

SETTING the value has NO impact, at all ....

however, it does ALLOW larger messages, which does have an impact. See the performance reports for a qualitative answer

Consider, as well, the following situation.

You change all the necessary MaxMsgLn properties on all objects for a communication between two queue managers.

Then an application sends a bunch of larger messages.

But the queue manager log file settings were designed only for the previous MaxMsgLn.

So the messages can't flow over the channel, because the logs fill up.

That's an impact.

Ya i have just gone through that. And it says about performance tuning parameters like RAM upto 1Mb,but it also says to be cautious. So what could be a suggestable value.on RAM and the MAXMSGL attributes.

The suggested values are "The ones that meet your requirements".

If you would like someone to help you identify your requirements, and then someone to help you match those requirements to the environment, and then tune the queue manager to meet those requirements, then you should hire a consultant.
