I am setting a standard for the message format within our organization. One of the ideas is to use SOAP as our message standard.
However, since our main transport protocol is MQ, I am wondering if my choice adds much value. MQ messages already have headers and SOAP headers seems to be adding no value over MQ.
I would appreciate any ideas/comments over this choice.

SOAP headers add value at the application level, where most MQ headers should not be used for application data.
