I used the CRTSAVF command (as given in the readme file) on the AS/400 and then uploaded the ms03.savf file to the AS/400 in the binary mode (from my windows machine).
When I do the RSTLIB command, it says " No objects saved or restored for library MS03". How to make this command work.
I am able to work out with the following commands:
STRMQMCSVR MQMNAME(<QMGRNAME>)
MS03/QSAVEQMGR LCLQMGRNAM(<QMGRNAME>) FILENAME('MS03/QMQSC(<QMGRNAME>)')
With this command here, I am able to complete the backup procedure (QMQSC has been created in the MS03 library)
Now when i follow the four step process for restoring the queue manager configuration (by deleting the QMGR and recreating & starting it) i get the following error. I did the DSPJOBLOG and then copy/pasted the error below:
************************************************************

Message . . . . : Error report generated for MQSC command process.
Cause . . . . . : The STRMQMMQSC command attempted to process the sequence of MQ commands from MS03/QMQSC(TESTQM) and encountered errors,
however, the operation may have partially completed. A report has been written to the printer spool file.
Recovery . . . : Examine the spooled printer file for details of the errors encountered, correct the MQSC source file, and retry the operation.
Technical Description . . . . . . . . : None.

Message . . . . : Error found on STRMQMMQSC command.
Cause . . . . . : The system detected errors in the command.
Recovery . . . : See the previously listed messages in the job log. Correct the errors and then try the command again. *N instead of a command name means that the name had not been determined before the error was found.**********************************************************
Please advise on why it says "No objects saved or restored for library MS03" and how the above error messages (in bold above) can be corrected?
I really appreciate your reply and thank you so much in advance. |

UPLOAD that file in TEXT mode. NOT binary... or use MO72 to process it....

After you ftp the ms03.savf to the as/400, what does:
dspsavf qgpl/ms03
show?
If you weren't able to run the restore, how were you able to run MS03/QSAVEQMGR? _________________ -wayne |
