In the manual page for Data sources on z/OS it says
<quote>
If you need to access databases that are not on DB2 on z/OS, you can use DB2's Distributed Data Facility (DDF) and Distributed Relational Architecture (DRDA) to incorporate a remote unit of work within a message flow.
</quote>
Does this mean that I might be able to get to an Oracle database from z/os?
All I've found so far is lots of posts saying all you can do is DB2 on z/os but this doesn't seem to have been discussed. Could just be I read more into the manual than it really says.
Broker on zOS can only make database connections to DB2.
It may be possible, using the mechanisms mentioned (DDF or DRDA) or some other federating or replicating mechanism, to make the data in your Oracle database available for reception by a Broker DB2 database connection. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
