Hi,
We have our configmgr on a Windows box and the broker on an AIX. We are planning to move the ConfigMgr to a diff box (coz the old one is too low in resources)
Once I create the new configmgr on new box, what exactly sohuld I be doing to ensure that the broker gets to this new domain? Kindly guide me.
I took the backup of databases, configmgr queue manager. I'm just worried about the fact that if I create a configmgr, a new UUID is generated.
Do we have to delete the broker? Or do we have to delete all the execution groups, flows and sets?
Thanks a lot. |

Read the documentation.
There is a roadmap for moving the config manager. You have to back it up and restore it. You cannot create a new one => you would have to recreate the broker...

Thanks for your reply.
But fjb_saper, I could not find any info on how to move the ConfigMgr to a diff box. By the way, we use WMQI 2.1, and not WBIMB.
All I did was installing and configuring the configmgr, broker etc on new systems, but never moved the configmgr to a diff box. So would be greatful if I get your expertise.
Once I delete all the msg flows, sets and the broker from the topology of the ControlCenter. while deleting broker, do we have to delete it completely(i mean including the data by using all flags).
I'm sorry for being this lengthy, but just badly need all your expertise. Kindly help me out. |

Don't use v2.1; it's not supported.
You can move the v2.1 Config Manager to a different box when you migrate to v6. As fjb_saper says, the documentation tells you how.
Use this as a reason to justify the migration effort. |
