Hello,
I'm an, MQSeries user but I never had any training by IBM over that.
I just learned on the job...
What I'd like to understand is the functioning of the CCSID in MQS.
I understand the purpose but I'd like to understand how to make it work.
For example I've got for the moment a project in my enterprise in which I must send data from a Tandem server to a Windows based over MQS located on a HP-UX.
I've got CCSID 1051 on my HP-UX config for MQS.
The problem is we are not able to receive data in the Windows side with some special french caracters like "éèà ôù" and I don't understand what to do and how.
What I just know is we have not to change CCSID value on HP-UX side, it's on sender and/or receiver side we have to find a solution.
So I'm waiting for some specialists that I'm not to explain me all CCSID specificities.
Thanks
Bye |

Ok thanks this information was helpfull for me to understand how it works.
But there's several points I still don't understand:
- First I've got a QM on a HP-UX platform with a CCSID 1051. When I use the IBM MO71 tool to put a message in the queue, the message comes with a CCSID 850. I don't understand this issue.
- Secondly if I understood well in my environment the conversion has to be done in receiving side.
But here is a description of my environment:
--> I receive data from an NSK (Tandem) server which has a QM with CCSID 819 configured.
--> On my side I've got MQ on a HP-UX platform with CCSID 1051.
--> I've got an MQ Client running on a Windows Platform that take the data from the QM located on the UNIX side.
So as say above conversion has to be done on the Windows side, right ?? |

Maybe if it was in the correct forum it would have got a quicker answer?
However.....The conversion in your instance should be done on the windows side (or on the channel itself) |

I'm sorry I'm not used to use this site.
My first feeling was I was in the good forum...
As you can see I'm a newbie ... maybe you can inform me about the forum it has to be.
Thanks a lot |

I'd have said Installation & Configuration, General or maybe the API forum. This one's dedicated to the Workflow product. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
