When a Queue Manager is created, after exporting the MQSPREFIX, the broker connt be started for the QM.

This is happening on HP-UX 11.x MQ Ver 5.2 CSD 04 with service pack MA0C and MA88. The following are the steps:

1. export MQSPREFIX=/var/mqm/projname (to keep qmgrs for this project tucked away under the project name)
2. crtmqm ANEWQM (successful creation of the QM)
3. strmqm ANEWQM (Successful start of the QM)
4. runmqsc ANEWQM < /opt/mqm/java/bin/MQJMS_PSQ.mqsc (everything looks fine)
5. runmqsc ANEWQM, verify queues etc., END (Back to the prompt)
6. strmqbrk -m ANEWQM
MQSeries message broker for queue manager ANEWQM not active.

Tried all the above WITHOUT exporting MQSPREFIX. QMgr (BNEWQM) created int the default location (/var/mqm/qmgrs) :
Response for step6:
MQSeries message broker started for queue manager BNEWQM.

Any suggestions?

When you created the message broker where was the queue manager at the time of creation ????
