Any help or suggestions?
We have workflow 3.5 applications running in WebSphere Application Server 5.02 on AIX 5.2.
Our application times out when we try to use a browser to login to workflow using the workflow java API. This also occurs when using the IBM workflow webapp. The admin utility can login and after that the other applications are able to connect successfully.
The scenario is this:
Users use their browser to access the Web App which in turn logs in to workflow to get workitems, etc.
Over night, everything quiesces and the next morning, when users use the Web App to access their worklist, the workflow login times out.
If we then used the admin utility to access the workflow system, it goes OK and then the web users are able to run all day. At night, things quiesce and the problem reoccurs the next morning. _________________ Dean Keister |

This sounds pretty strange to me...
Do these users logoff and close their browser when they are done the night before? _________________ John McDonald

I remember this form a long time back. This is most probably because your MQ Channels are going down. _________________ -Ratan |

Dean:
The thing I find strange is that the using the Admin client seems to get things going again. Almost sounds like there is something that the Admin client causes to get moving again perhaps an MQ channel or some such.
Have you opened a PMR?
Sorry ratan, I did not see your post about the channel, but now that I do, since we both think the same thing I am assigning this a good probability of being the cause _________________ John McDonald

Yeah, we kinda thought that and I'm getting some error logs from the customer... Now to figure why the channels are going down... _________________ Dean Keister |

What changed with this app recently? This didn't just start happening out of the blue right? _________________ John McDonald

Well actually, it did. It happened sometime around May, they restarted a number of processes and applications (shot gun...) and it went away (no logs that time). They will restart again over the weekend but I'm getting workflow and mq logs and hopefully will be able to identify some cause. _________________ Dean Keister |

Is WF and WAS in the same AIX box? If not , check MQ channel status.
