I have to connect to the remote queue manager resided on AIX using RFHUTILc to save the contect of a queue. I have two questions:

while going through the document, I found that the following permission is necessary.

setmqaut -m <QMgr> -n RFHUTIL.REPLY.QUEUE** -t q +all
setmqaut -m <QMgr> -n SYSTEM.DEFAULT.MODEL.** -t q +all
setmqaut -m <QMgr> -n SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.QUEUE -t q +put

I did not find the RFHUTIL.REPLY.QUEUE** queue in my system. I am playing with my windows version of mq. Is that queue is available in AIX? I do not have access to unix box now.

Second, I could save the contect of the queue to a file using savingQ but the header part is unreadble. In one place, the document says we can add rules to format the header, but I did find where to add rule.

Could you please help me resolving these problems.

thanks in advance

Rules to format the header?

Do a search on MQRFH...

Enjoy

This is the output example.
Quote:

MD ÿÿÿÿ " ¸ MQHRF2 AMQ WBRK_QM Ð.E WBRK_QM xxxxx |ë$
QIdC
2ë C:\rfhutil\rfhutil.exe 2006101211321923 ÿÿÿÿRFH $ " µ ¸ <BookStoreOrder>
<CustomerDetails>

The body portion of the message is correctly saved but the header is as shown above. I checked the MQRFH. I could not figure out what exactly do I need to do ( I have never been involved in application development). Could you please give me some hint why this header is unformatted and what parameters has to set up and where ? As this is with rfhutil.

Also, in order to use the rfhtuil in remote server, has the queue called 'RFHUTIL.REPLY.QUEUE' to be created?

The rfhutil document does not talk aobut creating this queue though it talks indirectly about setting mqserver variable or channel table for connection.

thanks

You'll find information about the header if your read up on pub/sub.

Enjoy

For basic functioning of RFHUTILC we have not had to have any extra queues defined on the AIX qm.
