Hello everybody!
I am about to implement MQ OAM security in my servers.
Right now, everybody has the MQM authority.
I come from the MF world and have no background in the open systems. I have just finished learning OAM from the SYSTEM & AUTHORITY MQ books. That's why i'd like some help in doing that right.
Do you have a recommendation about how should it be done, so that minimum damage will happen, and that customers will not notice the change? (Maybe dump the current object defined, trace users etc).
Thank's very much,
Hilla. |

OAM implements access lists. Like mainframe RACF (or equivalent product), create groups (lists) of users and groups (lists) of resources; then add users to the appropriate user group, and grant to the user group authority to the resource groups. Take everyone out of MQM group except MQ sysadmins.
If you are not familiar with implementing security in RACF, visit with your RACF administrators and have them help you design a good security scenario. |
