Hello,
I've a problem with configuration MQ-Series communication between Sun Solaris2.6 and AIX 4.2.1
(Yes, I know very old versions, but the customer is king)
I always get these two error messages on the Solaris maschine:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
03/17/03 15:27:38
AMQ9209: Connection to host '*****' closed.
EXPLANATION:
An error occurred receiving data from '*****' over TCP/IP. The
connection to the remote host has unexpectedly terminated.
ACTION:
Tell the systems administrator.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
03/17/03 15:27:38
AMQ9999: Channel program ended abnormally.
EXPLANATION:
Channel program 'TINTIN.CAROLINE.D1' ended abnormally.
ACTION:
Look at previous error messages for channel program 'TINTIN.CAROLINE.D1' in the
error files to determine the cause of the failure.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've checked all previously given hints:
- the listener is running on port 1414 which is the port used
- a ping to the maschine went well
- the maschines are configured by DNS not by the IP-adress
If I perform a telnet from the AIX maschine to the port 1414 on the Solaris maschine it goes down if the first "bad character" is received. If I perform a telnet from the Solaris maschine to the port 1414 on the AIX maschine it goes down immediately.
Has anyone any hint to solve my problem? |

You have to bear in mind that just pinging fine doesnt mean that your channels are running ok.
Instead you have to use, Ping channel command. If you successfully get a response back, that means your channel is set properly. If not, then there is something wrong.
To start with, i always use and advise any other port other than 1414. Because this is the default port. I know that if the port is in use, you would not be able to reuse it again for another listener, but just in case...
Also check the corresponding error logs on the Aix system.
Cheers

Hi,
the AIX maschine's logs don't list any errors. I've executed a ping channel from the solaris maschine to the AIX maschine:
ping channel(TINTIN.CAROLINE.D1)
2 : ping channel(TINTIN.CAROLINE.D1)
AMQ9209: Connection to host '*****' closed.
But MQ-Series is still running on both maschines.
Thanks for any help

Check to see if your listener is running and that you pointed your sdr channels to the appropriate listener. As suggested earlier, change the port and see if it makes any diff.
Also i would think there should have been some other error preceeding this one. Is there???
And did you have any tcp/ip errors.
Cheers
