Hi,

Has anyone implemented an interface for sending fax from the broker? We have a requirement wherein we get a message from the source application in a queue. We need to transform this to the format required by a customer and send it as a fax.

I read that the SendMailPlugIn node support pack has a fax capability, but I am not able to send fax using the node. The PDF for the node mentions that it uses tpc.net for sending out faxes through Email, but this does not seem to be working. Also, the site www.tcp.net is not accessible.

I have put in the code as specified in the PDF. I am able to deploy the flow, I am not getting any error when I send a message to the flow, but the fax is not coming through. I could not find anything from the logs.

Is there any other way to send faxes from the broker? Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions.

Thanks,
VK.

You need a fax<->email gateway if you want to have an EMAIL sent as a FAX or recieve a FAX from EMAIL.

I doubt that www.tcp.net is going to work for you....

There isn't a native "FaxOutput" node for WMB. You might be able to find some Java code that can send faxes and use that from a JavaCompute node.

Thanks Jeff and Vitor.

I mentioned the website worngly in my initial post. The site given in the PDF for the support pack is www.tcp.int/faxbymail.html

We are currently at WMQI v2.1 broker. It will take us 2-3 months more to migrate fully into WMB v6.0. I will try using the JavaCompute node for sending faxes.

Meanwhile, I was trying to use the SendMailPlugIn node with WMQI v2.1 to send faxes. The procedure given in the PDF for sending faxes is same as the one given for the new version of the node, which can be used with WMB v6.0.

I am able to seccessfully send mails and attachments with the node in 2.1, but the procedure mentioned for sending faxes doesn't seem to be working.

Thanks,
VK.

That's going to be a generic address, and not a real thing that you should actually use.
