I'm trying to communicate with a secured MQ server using a JMS Client on a different box but is a bit unsured on the settings within the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) v5.x.

I have done the following within the WAS admin console:

- Servers => Application Servers => server_name => Custom Properties => New

I specified the following variables and their corresponding values:

javax.net.ssl.keyStore
javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword
javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType
javax.net.ssl.trustStore
javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword
javax.net.ssl.trustStoreType

Q1. Is this correct place for these values?

Q2. Where can I specify the CipherSuite value (SSL_RSA_WITH_NULL_MD5)? If it is in the same place as above what is the key name? E.g. is it SSLCIPH, SSLCIPHERSUITE, com.ibm.ssl.enabledCipherSuites etc..???

You need to specify those in the CCDTURL property of the QCF.

More accurately, you need to specify those in a client channel definition table file and point to that using the CCDTURL property of the QCF.

Or review the Using Java manual.

Many thanks jefflowrey (great great grand master) for the tips. I'll look into CCDTURL, if you have any examples or useful links that would be v.helpful.
