Hi all,
We currently have WMQI 2.1 in our test environment. Every thing was working fine till last week, but now when tried to see the assignments made to the broker(located on AIX), it's throwing an error-BIP0062E. When I tried to take a backup of the databases, it's throwing SQL2048N error. I tried one solution for this SQL error, but still throwing same error.
Instead we are planning to move ConfigMgr to a diff box. But now that I'm unable to export the whole workspace and unable to take a backup of the databases, what is the best way of migrating the configmgr to a new box. I would greatly appreciate if someone provides the input. I know WMQI 2.1's support is about to end, but we are also working on migrating to WMB 6.
I'm concerned about the broker's UUID. If we create a new config mgr and create a new topology with old broker, will I be able to deploy to the same old broker without any issues?
Kindly respond back with your thoughts.
Thank you. |

If you create a new configmgr with a new UUID, you will have to delete and recreate your brokers. If you don't delete the data, this won't UNDEPLOY anything, just cause the broker to generate a new uuid for itself and put it in a state where it can be registered to the configmgr. So once you recreate the broker and redeploy the topology, you'll be back in business. But it's still an outage.
If you shut the configmgr down entirely, you should be able to use database tools to make a complete backup of the configmgr database and try putting that onto a new machine.
Regardless, if you're having this kind of trouble, you should open a PMR *today*. It won't work if you wait a week or two... _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
