It's given in the IBM doc (in section: Migrating from Version 2.1 to Version 6.0: Version 6.0 coexisting temporarily with Version 2.1) that the Version 2.1 broker should be stopped immediately after deployment of version 6 broker.

Is it a must that 2.1 broker should be stopped once the verion 6 broker is deployed? Because we are planning to tun both the Broker version 2.1 and Broker version 6 to RUN PARALLELY (without causing any disturbance for the current 2.1 broker, annd at the same time test on the broker v 6) for atleast 2 weeks and then shutdown the broker v 2.1. Is it possible to do so? Kindly let me know.

If you *migrate* a broker, then "both" brokers will be using the same queue manager.

You can't share a queue manager.

You can simply create a *new* v6 broker on a *new* queue manager, and migrate the flows and sets. Then you can run them in parallel.

Otherwise you only have *one* broker, not *two*.
