Anybody got any more ideas on this. Getting BIP2163S error code saying User environment not set up within AIX WMQI 2.1 installation when you try mqsilist command or nay other mqsi command. When previously seen this you copy the sample profile.aix file to your user's home directory edit and put in the DB2 bits etc and then add the running of this script to the said user profiless standard .profile file which gets run as part of users initiation. The user id being used is part of mqbrkrs group and connects to the DB2 Broker database via the db2 command line no problem. Any other thoughts appreciated.

Have you checked that the profile is modifying the current environment rather than a shelled-to environment which exits, ie: If you type "SET" at the shell, you can see all of variables you've set in the profile?

If you run a command in such a way that it doesn't have to do work, just output help, does it exhibit the same problem?

Eg: mqsichangetrace with no parameters?
