Don't use MQSI 2.1. Don't install it, don't plan to install it, don't start new development on it. START MIGRATING NOW.
It's not compatible with DB 8.2, either.

hey Jeff,
we are actually migrating from MQSI 2.1 to MB 6
currently we have DB2 7.1 so we are upgrading it to 8.1.7
Then as a back up plan we just want to connect db2 8.1.7 and MQSI 2.1,
in case we were not successful in installing MB 6 successfully.
Please advise.... |

I don't think you can get 2.1 to connect to DB2 8.2.
But I haven't tried it, and I haven't used 2.1 in several years.

Is this for application tables or just the broker's tables? I would keep db2 7.1 on the machine and use that if you need to fallback to mqsi 2.1, less dangerous than trying to mix mqsi 2.1 and db2 8.2
